TEKSTIL & PRINT DECOR
Good design incorporates its final medium into the design process. Creating a beautiful design that evokes a particular feeling for a recipient on paper is far from creating a functional graphic that suits the cup, plate or pitcher for which it is intended. The medium’s curvature and reflectivity might displace or distort the graphic if the design has not been thoroughly considered. This is also applicable for fabric prints and embroidery design where the media aren’t static and therefore require greater consideration.
I have designed textile and printed décor for a long list of clients with widely ranging products. My design has been intended for both static and dynamic media, and through this experience I know that good design always begins with the medium involved.
